Sequential round table ALPHABET
The sequential round table alphabet (SRTA) is another pre-reading exercise that makes the students brainstorm knowledge, but it can also be used as a post-reading exercise, kind of in place of a formative assessment, to make the students show what they have learned so far. For each letter, the students must write down a word or phrase that starts with the particular letter. This makes students remember vocab words or main concepts or facts. A well completed chart may also be used as a good reviewing resource for the students.
In a math classroom, this is best used in a number of different ways, but one great way is for overall review of vocabulary that the students will need to know. This will be a good place for students look back for words when they need it.
